I was cracked wide open—sensing things I usually don’t. Yesterday morning, I saw the pinecone on a blue ribbon that warns birds not to crash into our kitchen window as it fidgeted against the pane. I noticed the kitchen clock ticking. Mozart stopped me in my tracks.
My world expands the day after I’ve staffed a New Warrior Training Adventure as I did this past weekend with about 40 men at a camp west of London. As staff, we opened ourselves and provided 17 men with the gift that we received on our first NWTA weekend.
It was amazing to watch these men arrive with fear on Friday and leave Sunday—some with 100-watt smiles, some with tears. Same as the staff. In giving, we receive.
